Caffe Sanora on Colfax

Caffe Sanora on Colfax
"A Great Cup of Good Health"

Another Denver Coffee House. With over sixty coffee shops already on this website, what makes Caffe Sanora different? The most significant unique thing about Caffe Sanora is the coffee itself. According to the Caffe Sanora corporate website, the coffee is organic "premium Arabica coffee" and has a unique "healthy roast" roasting process that retains a higher level of anti-oxidants than other coffees. See more about the patented "Healthy Roast" process here. You may have already seen articles about the antioxidant value of coffee, and it appears Caffe Sanora has taken it to the next level.

The actual space inside is fairly small, with a couple of small tables & a bar with 6 or 7 chairs facing Colfax. They have a great patio space in front of the shop on Colfax.

Caffe Sanora is also a proud member of the Rainforest Alliance, an organization that "works to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behavior". Read more here.

They also cater to companies with catering of coffee & pastries.

Perks:

  • Free WiFi,
  • Outdoor patio
  • Catering for office meetings
  • Breakfast Burritos
  • Great coffee (it's even good for you!) :-),
  • Friendly service,
  • Very convenient location.

**(I had previously mis-spelled it as Cafe Sonara... (one "f" in Cafe vs 2, and Sonara vs Sanora)... I figure others may do the same, so I thought I'd add these oh-so-subtle keywords at the bottom of the post to help others find this place who are looking)

Caffe Sanora is a great place to go and hangout. I enjoyed the chill atmosphere. The coffee was excellent and wasn't too pricey.

smooth little joint with even smoother coffee, not to mention a rad staff and windows facing the peopled street of e.colfax. good vibes, good times.

I'm just psyched that it's "healthy coffee" (skeptics... SHHH). I want to feel good about my habit. It is good coffee, actually. Good for you is a nice bonus.T he whole topic of antioxidants has really been in the news as of late too.

David (the owner) is very personable. He obviously loves running this place, which makes it very nice to chill. The coffee is also good. I like the healthy coffee concept.

I have to say, I've lived up the street from Caffe Sonora for six months but continued going to Starbucks out of familiarity. Over the past month or so I started buying coffee from Caffe Sonora more and more. Today I went back over to Starbucks for a cup and in my very humble opinion, Caffe Sonora may well possibly have the best roasted bean in the city, at least I can say with certainty, far superior to the Starbucks that served my addiction over the past few years.

Not only is it a great cup of coffee, but David is a generous person who is mindful of the needs and rights of others. Thanks, David!

It's not the reported "good" indredients or how it's made, but coffee is alway bad for you to drink. It's not just the caffine, but the acid that is even much worse. Sure, a zillion dollar drug has it's proponents/pushers who want you to be paying up, over-stimulated, or just laying around recovering from work &, well,...from the previous cup. The cigarette people have a similar song-&-dance speel about their drug of choice. Actually, the two addictions get hooked together so that one doesn't get taken without the other, & then their over-eating to die for - America's biggest addiction & killer! Remember a little poison is still toxic. Said often enough, people like to be lied to.

You spelled "caffeine" wrong idiot

Teeny little place, BIG flavor. Its off the beaten path for me, but any time i've found myself in this shop i've always had a great cup of coffee, or shot of espresso. Comments are dead-on about the great staff --they have shown true -kindness- and class, and from what I can glean, it's from the heart. A year ago I wandered in; my son was ill at Children's, and my ex and I were walking around, just trying to decompress a tad. The barista overheard us talking, and wouldn't take a CENT for the shot I had, on a whim, ordered. That's the sort of class you just can't fake. Rates as one of Denver's best, from a product and soul perspective.

i was recently in town for the annual stock show and was so impressed after the first day with their coffee and breakfast burrito's (not to forget the warm staff) that i had to return every day for a fix. i would'nt have it any other way.

I've only been to the Colfax location once becuase I live in Boulder not Denver. The shop is very nice with a real "gemütlichkeit" (German for friendliness, comfort, codiality).

On the other hand, I'm very familiar with the coffee itself and am a big fan. I have purchased a half dozen gift boxes on the caffe Sanora Website and they were a huge hit with my relatives.

Caffe Sanora is such a huge improvement over the previous shop that occupied this space- believe it was the Denver Coffee Bean. The Irish guy who ran it was grumpy and acted like you were bugging the crap out of him when you ordered a drink. The new guy seems to genuinely love running his business- KEY to success.
I've only stopped there once to have a mocha but it was DELISH and now i keep trying to find excuses to get off the bus on the way to work and get a coffee, then get back on the bus- but that would be the behavior of an addict, que no? So instead I ride past, my face pressed up against the glass of the bus window. (no, it's not the short bus) SIGH. Maybe on the weekends i'll stop by. And the coffee is much better for you, hardly any acid that upsets your stomach.

I lived across the street in the rennovated "Rosenstock" building and hit Dave's shop on a regular basis. Now I'm in Twentynine Palms, California and wish I could import his shop here! Off to Micronesia in a couple of months, maybe Dave will relocate!

Did I mention the beautiful "foam art" that was placed upon my mocha, free of charge, by Dave/David? It made my day. You fellow addicts know what I'm talking about. :) Caffe Sanora beans can also be purchased at Wild Oats, etc., and I seem to remember them giving out free samples at Bike to Work Day or something- are they a Colorado company? Anyone know? cheers

IT WAS THICK AND SMOOTH AND SWEET TO TREAT. I RECOMMEND EVERYONE TO STOP BY AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK TO INDULDGE. STARBUCKS AND COFFEE BEAN AIN'T GOT NOTHIN' ON 'EM.

Warms my heart seeing all these comments reflecting such a great place/proprietor/staff; it's people/places like this that keep a sense of normalcy in such wack times.

Was in on July 26th and found out David's dog had passed; would ask that everyone send strong, positive, and healing vibes his way. Hang tough, David.

Caffe Sanora is yummers. It's for the true coffee fan, not the person who prefers to spend a million dollars on a cup of burnt cofee... Starbucks. The two very handsome men that run the shop couldn't be more wonderful, the cozy and warm atmosphere of the shop can't be beat, and did I mention the coffee? It's awesome!

I live in Arizona but was born and raised in Littleton! Love the area there. I am opening my own coffee roasting house and love to read the support for locally owned coffee shops. Thank you for your support of this shop. I will visit it next time I am in the area. Oh, by the way, the guy trying to educate us on the evils of coffee, don't waste your time. Its his loss.

I don't want to hate on big coffee houses, but Starbucks has nothing on Sanora. This place is so sweet, it's like a little mountain shop on Colfax. It makes me so happy to get my coffee from a local place with great people and even better coffee!
