Metropolitan Mudd | Downtown Denver

Metropolitan Mudd
1516 Wazee Street Denver, CO
See it on the BUZZ Coffee Map

Metropolitan Mudd is a cute downtown coffee house with a unique twist: EVERYTHING inside is for sale. From the antique brass telescope to the stained glass hanging above the rounded bar, there is no shortage of things to buy, from the inexpensive gift to the extravagant antique.

From the website: What was first to be an antique emporium, soon became a city-meets-country nostalgic coffee house, with enough charm to appeal to everyone. "We were tired of paying high prices on a daily basis for bad coffee at other national coffee companies, so we thought, why not do the investigation and offer a better product?

The atmosphere is cozy in this narrow, but long space. There are plenty of comfortable places to sit, and no shortage of interesting stuff to look at. The colors are warm and relaxing, with some exposed brick showing through the old plaster walls, and a nice wood floor

They have excellent coffee from NOVO coffee roasters right here in Denver, and espresso from Mr. Espresso.

Perks: Location, fun and interesting decor, a lot of unique items for sale, Free WiFi

I have visited this place several times and like it. The seating needs improvement. Most of the tables are high that looks uncomfortable to me. There is a large wooden table in the back that has a lazy susan turntable in the middle of it. That makes it difficult to spread out any newspapers on it.

i have visited this coffee stop often on my way to school. it's nice but a little intimidating for a poor college student like myself with it's pricy antiques and overpriced lip balm but the coffee and espresso are EXCELLENT!!! FREE internet...wwoohoo!! visit Mel she's the awesome one who enjoys her job and makes coffee with LOVE, the only way to make it!!

Seems like coffee is truly secondary here.

I found the staff more interested in talking about an antique glass bowl and knew more about it than were interested in talking about the origins of their coffee. I suspect, as with 80+% of the independent coffee houses in town, they are in the coffee business to make $$.
Too bad they want to sell antiques instead.

I think the staff is very personable. They get to know you and enjoy seeing you come into the shop. They are always friendly and are always ready to give you the caffine you need to get your day going. Keep up the great work with this store!

What a great local business! The mix of coffee, gifts, and antiques is such a refreshing change from the typical corporate environment. Nice staff, great drinks, fun place.

Very cute place. Great, calm atmosphere, perfect for getting work done or an intimate tete-a-tete with a friend or partner.

Closed due to non payment of vendors. They do still have one open in Loveland. Although they changed ownership to thier parents in an attempt to hide assets. If anybody makes their way to Loveland please tell them to stop purchasing things they can't afford and pay thir bills!
