Perk & Pub | Uptown Location

Perk and Pub Uptown
414 East 20th Ave (see it on the BUZZ Coffee Map) Denver, CO
http://www.perkandpub.com

This is the former location of Sweet Rockin' Coffee, and is now one of two Perk & Pub locations in Denver (the other being in Wash Park).

It is a big spot, and sits directly across the stret from a nice open park. I have work to do, so I'll have to post some more comments another time. This is a nice place, and it appears they have a good food selection as well! Over the bar, there is a beer & wine menu with a 'coming soon' ribbon on it, so it appears that at least this location will have beer & wine (See this post and the responses about their Wash Park location not serving alcohol).

Perks: Free Wi-Fi, plenty of seating, nice decor, good coffee & menu.

Well, I did my presentation and it went well! I used power point and the presentation was on coffee as a cultural icon in america. I used your blog on how coffee affected even the cyberworld as well as a combination coffeecup/mouse I found on the internet! I WAS A HIT! WOOHOO! Thanks for permission to use your blog as a presentation prop! It was even listed in the annotated bibliography as well to go with the presentation.

It seems their closed now. I went buy there and it looked shut down with a tax notice posted on the door. Hopefully they'll be back soon... and with that liquor license...

I agree. There is a for lease sign in the front with a tax notice posted. Nice place, thought they did enough business. Keep supporting local coffee shops!!!

I heard from someone affiliated with the business that they had too much square footage and too expensive a place for a coffee shop with no liquor license and that getting a liquor license had taken longer than expected, a quite common problem with new businesses in Denver.

It may be gone for good.

but not paying taxes has nothing to do with the liquor license. the shop prior had its liquor license. is the wash park one owned by the same people, are they staying in business and paying uncle sam? seems that this franchise has trouble wherever it goes...if it sin't stuck up washpark neighbors complaining about itspatio space, then it is not having enough traffic to make ends meet. too bad...really liked it.

Hint: move to South Broadway....we are dying for a good coffee shop besides Kaladi's. Take over the Broadway Cafe location...PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

check out waterloo coffee on south broadway. it's a newbie, and while small, it's a nice place. The owner is nice, and they have killer crepes.
