I stopped by Cafe Cafe on a Saturday morning, and saw it is obviously a neighborhood hotspot. I will have to post an actual profile at a later date when I actually have a chance to stick around for a while. I have had several visitors say this is a great place, and it seemed to have a very nice "hangout factor". No WiFi.

cafe cafe is tragic. great atmosphere in a location that really needs a true hanging-out coffeehouse, but the service is slow as molasses (once the staff finish gossiping & actually take your order), the coffee is terrible, and not only do they not have WiFi, they don't even have any electrical outlets for laptops. I wish someone would take over and turn this into the fantastic spot that it could be.
well, they've always done all right by me; once it had been over a year since i'd been there (with a pal) and when i was able to return (alone this time), one of the 1st things lady axed when she greeted me was, "so, where's your friend today?" wow, good memory :)
cafe cafe rocks! excellent coffee and awesome crepes - yes crepes! enormous in size and will make to order. the customer svc is always nice, never had bad experience. i think cafe cafe is more of a restaurant than a wifi typical coffee house. they're always crowded with great neighborhood crowd that is more interested in coffee, friends and great food than in wireless!
Hey VT,
"AXED" ?!
I refuse to allow that word into the written lexicon.
the food is really great, and yes, the service can be slow. however i've never had anything but excellent espresso drinks there.
i also moan about the lack of wifi, but if they had it there would be no place to sit and eat -- its already hard to get a table sometimes.
i agree - they always have great brewed coffee as well as great latte drinks. try their chai - truly one of the best in denver.
i've only had their breakfast bagels there and have never been disappointed. the crew is always laid back and friendly. good hangout place
How many postings and no mention of the amazing crepes!? Shameful. If you hang out at Cafe CAfe and haven't tried them, plan to on your next visit. Bring a friend, though, because one order feeds two people :-)
I went there this past weekend and apparently they are under new management, which is totally MISMANAGED. It took us almost 30 minutes to get out crepes which weren't worth the wait or the price. Front end girl was rude and short. Try Laughing Bean Cafe. Nicer service and faster crepes. WE MISS ANDREA!!!!
sure doesn't feel like it used to - something's missing...the hot chicks are gone! now it seems like a chore to be waited on. we won't be back.
their phone number is #(303)477-9933
they now have Wi-Fi....hurray!! mostly family and cultural crowd over 35yrs-70yrs of age..
just like the rest of the Highlands area.... tons of babies everywhere...its in the water.. I know over 7 kids under 5years in the immediate area. cafe cafe T-ball team?? in the making
We met our family there last week because we had heard so many great things about it. The latte's were only ok. And our breakfast bagels were midiocre - what's to a breakfast bagel anyhow? But the worst part of it was their customer service! The girl taking our order seemed very angry and bothered. We should have gone to Taza - at least they greet you with a smile.
I had a good cappuccino and a great crepe here last week. The woman working the counter (owner maybe?) was friendly too. I'll definitely be back.
I think it's that angry mexican or indian looking gal that has a large nose that's usually rude or to busy to be bothered.
The original owners are truly missed. It really isn't the same there anymore without them.
At least the new owners kept the menu the same and the coffee. Maybe they should replace the rude counter girl...
I just moved into this neighborhood, and have gone to Cafe Cafe a few times now. The first time I went, I asked what kind of drip coffee they had brewed (not realizing it's Novo so it was the Colombian Josefina). The girl at the counter was so confused, she had no idea what I was talking about. Then I asked for a 12oz Americano, and she was still confused... "is that a small or a large?" I just wanted to shake her and tell her to get it together! Regardless of the fact that she was not actually making the coffee, I feel like she should at least be able communicate with customers about it. I also am not wild about using single origin espresso, but I guess that could be a personal preference- I just avoid the espresso there. With all that being said, Novo's Colombian as a drip coffee is fantastic. It had been sitting in the airpot for a couple of hours the first time I had it, but have had it fresh since then and it is awesome. Their crepes are also really really good! Regardless of the negatives, I am still going to come here regularily. Hopefully one day they will get some decent espresso from another roaster or something.
