Great site. Didn't notice any mention of live music at any of these shops. Could you let me know of any coffeehouses that have live music? I am an Arizona singer/songwriter hoping to go on the road soon and would love to play in Denver. You can e-mail me at msmausser@aol.com Thanks!

i agree w/maus that that's a good idea, albeit for a different reason. to wit: i'd also include the hours each place allows live music- cuz that way, i'd know when Not to go :p same goes for places that blast they sound system so loud it drowns out even my walkman :p
nuthin personal on maus of course; for that matter i don't mind quiet background-ambience tunes. but if i wanted loud music of someone else's choosing i'd hit a bar or club. otherwise i risk channeling belushi stumblin past a would-be troubador in delta house's staircase, as latter warbled with expanding lungs: "i gavvve my love a chicken, that had nooo bonnnne. . .I Gavvvve My Love A Cherry, That Haaad Nooo Stone. . . I GAVVVVE MY LOVE A STORYYYY, THAT HAAAAD NOOO ENNNND, I GAV-" (at which point loosh grabs & smashes guitar, then apologizes absently while handing back the remains) :D

What is up with this 'vt'? He/she needs to start his/her own blog. Seems to have something to say for every entry. No need to describe the whole scene of a movie dude!

anon: "Seems to have something to say for every entry"
-and your problem with that is?

"No need to describe the whole scene of a movie dude"
-so who's forcing you to read it, Duuuuuuude? :p

haneys is ok. they have a good seating area and i like the tables and chairs. the people are nice. on the downside, no wifi and their coffee is seattle's best. with all the great local roasters in denver, going with a mediocre corporate coffee like sbc is a bad decision.

Haney's is a great North Denver Coffee Shop. They close at 2pm so they can spend time with their 6 and 8 year old boy's. John and Kathy Haney have worked very hard to make this a neighborhood coffee shop where everyone is welcome. Give it a try, I think you'll get hooked.

I love this place, because it's has a very open image in its unassuming tucked away location, so you're not concerned if you're "emo," "writer," "goth," "urban-hipster," etc. enough to enter the place.

If they made it easier by putting out a sidewalk chalkboard or the like to let us know when it's open, that'd help those of us driving by.

Just like the other comment stated, it's run by this great guy and his wife who really make the place feel homey with a warm smile and good conversation. I've actually only been there once, and honestly, I'd return a lot more if they lengthened the hours. Advertising more to the Sloan's lake, Highlands and Regis communities would help, too. I really really hope they stick in there, though!

Great cup of joe, too!

John and Kathy Haney would like to let the coffee drinkers in the area know that as of 07-07-06 we are 100% solar powered. We have paved the way for coffee shops and small businesses to go GREEN. Stop by and enjoy a true North Denver Neighborhood Coffee Shop. Thanks, The Haney's
