Satchel's calls itself "Park Hill's Gathering Spot", and it certainly does have a community feel when you walk in the door.
This is much more than a coffeehouse. The owner is passionate about food, and if you ever have the chance to try the brunch, to go gourmet food, a poker night, or one of their special family-style dinner nights, you are in for a treat.
With bright colors, local artwork, and sunlight coming in the garage bay door, this narrow space has a nice open feel.
There is a large selection of cheeses, along with a number of their very tasty baked goods. The menu selections that we tried proved to be excellent, and the service was great. They serve Illy espresso. The signature drink is their chocolate chai, which is not to be missed! I thought it sounded strange, but it is an amazing drink! I'm glad to see another neighborhood spot in Park Hill.

You know. oh yeah
Satchel is a great place for food, coffee and fun. It is a smaller cafe with a trendy appearance that lacks pretense, turns out local artist show case their works there. My wife and I ate lunch today with our 2 toddlers. She had a turkey sandwich and I ham. The boys had PB&Js. The salad was green and had accents of nuts, fruit and olives. The sandwiches had exotic cheeses that were very tasty. The informal atmosphere allowed all the kids to play together without disturbing the staff or customers.
We will be going back for sure.
5 Stars.

thanx for the tip, dcb :)
Everything I have had at Satchel's has been fabulous. The Illy coffee is very smooth. The chocolate chip cookies are wonderful. It is a nice place to hang out. Sometimes it gets a little busy but that is good for the shop. The variety of art, food, and drinks is cool.
Satchel's is an oasis in the middle of the ghetto.
Great coffee, sandwiches, and the owner, Andy is a great guy.
My husband and I think Satchel's is fabulous! A welcome treat in our neighborhood! I would recommend any of the breakfast scrambles or a gorgeous cheese plate made by Andy. Keep in mind the gift certificates for any of your Park Hill neighbors who may house or dog sit. A very thankful,
Dahlia Street Neighbor
Satchels is a fantastic place for lunch, it is my favorite, not just in Park Hill, but all of Denver
Satchels is the BEST! You go Drew.
Satchel's Market has been taking care of my corporate catering needs for the past few months, and the food is excellent, the displays are beautiful and the service is the best I've found in years. Without a doubt, Andrew deserves five stars!
I zipped down to Satchels yesterday on my lunch break to find that it is closed due to construction and expansion. They bought the place next door and are applying for a food and wine license.
I'm looking forward to seeing the new digs, especially having met one of the owners. So friendly.
Satchel's is now open for brunch on the weekends! We had our beer/wine license hearing on Monday, Dec. 9, and are now in the process of waiting. It's out of our hands now, but we're keeping positive thoughts. Once it's approved, we'll reopen our doors on the weeknights for dinners. (Andrew's wife, Jen)
