Downtown Denver
Finally had a chance to drop in at JC's Ground, a new coffee house at 1531 Champa (between 15th and 16th streets, downtown.
JC's Ground doesn't look like much from the front, but inside it is very spacious, and nicely decorated. The most unique thing about JC's Ground is that it is a coffeehouse with a mission.
It is a non-profit... and supports several organizations.
Check out their website, drop by, and post your reviews below!

I visited JC's Ground Coffee.
Totally GREAT. Roast beef sandwich excellent. Fabulous Cappuccino...Friendly service. Clean. I love the color and paintings/artwork. It's spacious. I like it for meeting with a group of women for bible fellowship with coffee.
Holy Grounds
My experience there was horrible. As I walked in, I passed by a eomployee working. He ignored me. I waited at the counter for ten minutes. I finally asked why he was oblivious of my presence, but got not response from him. So I left... and will never return.
Not only are the coffees good, but the Smoothies are amzing as well! My favorite coffee place when I'm in Denver.
JC'S Ground is by far the best place to go and have coffee or a snack they are courteous to thier customers, and it is never crowded so you will get fast and courteous service all the time.As for the person who wrote that his experience was not that good well I think he was very mistaken because the employees are very friendly to thier customers all the time I think that everyone should try this coffee shop and then they will see for themselves that it is a very good coffee shop.I will always come here to get on the internet and to have my coffee.
I was there at JC's Ground Saturday night and was really impressed with the look of the place. Very artsy, but comfy and spacious! I had a great time at their Open-Mic night which they run every Saturday. The talent was amazing, mostly acoustic stuff...but great. Coffee is good too. I will recommend it to my friends. JC's is definitely a hidden gem amid the Downtown hustle and bustle.
I visited there last night for open mic night and Brain & his clan welcomed me & my date and gave up their seats for us up front by the stage. The coffee and Java Chip were excellent and I will return often.
fuThey have the best coffee arond better than starbucks! There was one young woman her name was Amy she made the best vinallia chai thank you.
I stopped by here to get a mocha last night after trying out the new SE rail line. The staff was friendly and my drink was both quite good and made quickly.
I went in there just to scope things out, haha I felt like a spy...ok so maybe not...but yea, I went in there because my band is doing a shoow there on the weekend...I just wanted to see the layout. The staff was soooooo nice to me and my brother!
I felt so good leaving there, and the coffe was awesome! the only problem...And in retrospective wasn't even their fault anyways! we parked in the valet parking, haha and didnt know it was valet, and the guy yelled at us:( it was actually rather funny...we valet parked our own car...then paid him for it....wow we suck.
anyways I give JC's ground 10 out of 10! yay!
I've never been there.
Love, Lola
JC's is awesome! Great coffee, great food, atmosphere with a meaning! I go every week just to marinate in the great care they give each person and the fun. Have to go to an open mic nite sometime!! Sounds like fun.
Lola, its time!! Come on along.
so i thought christians were supposed to be loving, fair, honest, and friendly? seems to me like they should treat their employees better and not cheat them out of their credit card tips (to avoid taxes), should keep a professional and quality business for their customers (not borderline health-inspection failure), and should train their employees properly: ie, let them know their policies and expectations, not just assuming that they know everything the moment they walk in the door. boss-worker communication? nonexistent. yet they have such high expectations. and they wonder why they can't keep their workers?
hypocritical, judgmental, dishonest, stuffy place that won't last long. makes christianity very unappealing.
JC's isn't there anymore - needs to join coffee shop graveyard
Glad to hear they're out of business. I visited a few times out of necessity as it was close to my previous job. It was always a poor quality place that held together solely by the strings of its so-called "mission" and its sympathizers. The employees looked badly treated and badly trained, and I couldn't help but cringe at the afore mentioned "borderline health-inspection failure" food service. If they ever manage to reopen, I would recommend avoiding the place entirely.
JC's Ground is now called Rock and Roll Grill. It's still there, but with a new name, new menu, and more hours. Check it out! This is a great place to hang out with friends..anytime!
