This is the place to go if you're into good energy. Not only is the coffee great, but the people are wonderful -- no snottiness here. Nice indoor and outdoor accomodations, nothing pretentious, just cool, charming. I'll be coming back for more.
I agree with anonymous' posting - all the people who work there along with the owner Terri are very friendly and unpretentious. Twice I've been there and have thoroughly enjoyed the iced Americanos (perfect strength) and GLUTEN-FREE pastries. This place features a cozy and comfortable atmosphere with an awesome patio. Here's their website - www.washperk.com
this shop has potential to be a good shop. it has good coffee but the atmosphere is lacking. ive been in a couple of times and it just seems like a hang out for frumpy old ladies, which is very boring. a couple of the baristas are cool but most of them are annoying and come off as fake to me. you cant smoke on the patio either...
,,,and thank god (and the owners) that you can't smoke on the patio. I suspect this is the real reason for on commenter's discomfort. This comment is like saying you don't care for Mount Evans because you're not allowed to strip mine it.
It's a large part of why I like and appreciate the place. None of that pretentious "I'm smoking because I'm an edgy rebel" BS.
Great atmosphere, excellent pots of tea, plenty of light, lots of room, strategically-placed power strips. All in all, an awesome spot.
I have lived in the Wash Park area for a few years and must say that Wash Perk is a great place! I think there coffee is great and the service is always enjoyable. I can usually find a place to sit and study or read the paper as well. I will be there again soon.
cigarettes and coffee go together like biscuits and gravy, or peanut butter and jelly, or eggnog and christmas. you anonymous douche.
